Data-driven and sustainable digital health sector

This new initiative called ‘Decentralized Health Digital Twin Ecosystem Consisting of RIs (DTRIP4H)’ aims to transform European healthcare research infrastructures by using cutting-edge generative AI and digital twin technologies integrated with virtual reality (VR). Digital twin technologies driven by generative AI will enable the creation of virtual models of physical systems, allowing researchers to test and enhance real-world processes.

EU4MEDTECH project aims to develop a versatile and life cycle framework for the generation and evaluation of clinical and performance evidence of high-risk, innovative Medical Devices (MDs) and In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) across pre- and post-market stages. The developed framework will be operationalised through a state-of-the-art digital platform that will streamline regulatory processes, improve collaboration along the MedTech value chain, and ultimately enable faster patient access to innovative and safe MDs and IVDs.

The PHEMS project, run by a consortium led by Helsinki University Hospital (HUS), is set to transform data-driven research and innovation activities in pediatrics. The groundbreaking idea is to develop a decentralized health data ecosystem that can overcome barriers to cross-border collaboration on health data. This will enable an ecosystem without central data repositories, safeguarding sensitive personal health data within hospitals.
