Johan Palm is a seasoned finance professional with a diverse background encompassing roles in both startup and multinational environments. With a wealth of experience across various finance functions, Johan has a proven track record in business planning, pre-sale activities, contract management, post-sale control, consolidations, process optimization, system implementation, and finance department leadership. Johan has lent their expertise to a range of industries, including manufacturing, telecommunications, consulting, software, and media. Their educational foundation includes a BSc in Business Administration and Economics from Umea University, where they also had the honor of receiving a one-year scholarship to York University in Toronto, Canada in 1994.

Khatereh Rasti

Khatereh Rasti, B.A. (English translation) and M.A. (English Language & Literature) joined Spinverse as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager, reporting to Dijana Soininen. With several years of experience in the international corporate landscape, Khatereh will ensure seamless operations and effective support. Her background includes roles in various industries such as oil and gas, food companies, and experience as an interpreter and translator. Khatereh, who has been a pivotal figure in office administration tasks, HR matters, and CEO support, brings a unique skill set to our team, encompassing the ability to bridge language gaps and understand different cultures.

Sukant Panda

Sukant has more than 20 years’ experience in designing, developing and delivering technology solutions for industrial and consumer service industries.

Sukant worked in 2016-2019 as a Digital Business Strategist working at the intersection of Business, Industry and Technology to understand the opportunities digitalisation can bring especially for large companies in Finland across forestry, logistics, and construction to enable their business renewal. He worked with CXOs, corporate strategy executives and business heads to assist with conceptualization and development of ideas, hypothesis, and business case to improve customer interaction, build new business models, or to improve operational efficiency.

In 2010, Sukant relocated from India to Finland to work as Transformation solution lead in strategic sales cases to design how the IT landscape will change over a period of time to support business ambitions with digital transformation in mind. 

Earlier in his career, Sukant has worked across entire software development life cycle from coding, testing, implementation and support to software solutions for Insurance, and revenue optimization industries. Before joining Spinverse, Sukant was working as Head of Business Transformation to design, sell and deliver next-generation IT services powered by Artificial intelligence (AIOps) enabling intelligent IT & Business operations.

Sukant holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Master’s degree in computer management as well as an MBA degree in Leading Business transformation from Haaga-Helia UAS.

In his spare time, Sukant enjoys powerlifting, badminton, table tennis as well as travelling with his family and friends.

Dijana Soininen

Dijana brings with her 20 years of experience in senior leadership across multiple industries, coaching organisations to develop their organisational culture and behavior through new ways of leading and working. Before joining Spinverse, Dijana worked for a variety of companies, including Tieto, SEVEN Networks, Symbio and most recently, Wunderman Thompson’s, where she was a strong advocate for employee experience, leadership and development.

In addition to spending time with her family and her dog Elli, Dijana loves to contemplate and self-reflect, which she considers crucial skills to remind people how important it is to stop and take a moment to self-reflect – even on a busy day.

Veera Mustonen

Veera has 20+ years’ experience from planning and managing different types of R&D&I activities, ranging from single-company projects to large-scale, multi-party innovation programs and ecosystems. She works with both growth-seeking SMEs and large corporations in the fields of e.g. smart mobility, built environments, digital twins and other data-driven innovative solutions. She is also an experienced facilitator of public-private-partnership activities. 

Veera worked in 2013-2018 at Forum Virium, an innovation company of the city of Helsinki, where she also served as a deputy CEO. She led a large-scale smart city development project, Smart Kalasatama, which became an award-winning Finnish Smart City Innovation District featured in global rankings and media. She created an innovation ecosystem where hundreds of companies and startups collaborated with academia and public organizations to advance smart city service innovations, using data and new technologies in the domains of energy, mobility, health and smart living. Veera was responsible for consortium creation, fundraising and managing dozens of smart city and mobility projects funded by Horizon Europe, EAKR, EIT and Business Finland.  

In 2018 Veera relocated to Australia where she worked as an Executive Director of LifeLab at Tonsley innovation district, to start a commercial living lab supporting companies to create new products and services to the growing market of ageing demographics. 

Earlier in her career, Veera Mustonen pursued 15 years in the ICT industry, developing innovative human-centered concepts and services for companies such as Nokia, Sanoma and Fujitsu. During 2001-2011, Veera worked in senior management positions in Nokia, leading future business planning of smartphones and user experience projects.  

Before joining Spinverse, Veera was leading a consulting unit at MDI Ltd, focusing on advising largest cities, SMEs and public-private ecosystems on their strategic development, innovation and smart solutions. 

Veera holds an M.Sc. of Cognitive Science from the University of Helsinki. Currently, she is also enrolled as a doctoral candidate in industrial management at Aalto University. Her dissertation examines the scaling up of smart city experiments in public-private open innovation platforms. 

In her spare time, Veera enjoys outdoor activities, reading and travelling, as well as urban and cottage life with her family and friends.

Sameer Khan

Jayden Khakurel

Before Joining Spinverse, Jayden was working as Senior Researcher at the University of Turku, Finland. He was involved in numerous EU-funded research projects in collaboration with leading research institutes across Europe that emphasise payment, mobility, education, and healthcare.

Jayden has over 8+ years’ start-up experience. He was working with various technologies and applications: mobile payments, Near Field Communication (NFC) and contactless technologies, and navigation assistance application for public transportation. Also, Jayden has accumulated over 5 years’ experience with university and research institutes, focusing on research/project management. He has been working with quantified self-technologies, E-learning, digital health, conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI), user experience (UX) and technology adoption.

He holds a D.Sc. Tech (Computer Science) and M.Sc. Tech (Computer Software engineering) from LUT University, Finland, and an MBA international business management from South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences.

In his spare time, Jayden loves running and cooking. He believes in improving his convergent and divergent thinking, as well as in boosting confidence in himself.

Jyrki Salmi

Jyrki has more than 30 years of international consulting experience with focus on business, growth and globalization strategies, project development, assessment and management, both in private and public sector, and in facilitating various kinds of partnerships. Before joining Spinverse, Jyrki worked over 25 years in Indufor including 10+ years heading the largest business team of the company and almost 5 years as the managing director. After Indufor, he was doing freelance consulting for two years​. He is a member of an advisory board of a philanthropic fund, FFD-Hope, combatting the climate change.

Jyrki has worked in 75+ countries in all the continents on over 130 consulting projects, including strategy processes both for private and public clients, project financing, project preparation, project assessments of large and complex projects (largest of which was 2.7 billion €), pre-evaluation of 83 proposals to an EU financing window. He has also done many technical consultancies in forestry and various environmental projects. He has been a consulting team leader in over 30 projects and coordinated or managed more than 20 large projects. He has sold and done more than 20 projects for the Multilateral Financing Institutions (World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and African Development Bank) and several projects for the EU.

Jyrki holds a M.Sc. degree in forest economics from the University of Helsinki and a Special Qualification in Management from Helsinki School of Economics and South Karelia Polytechnic.

In his free time, Jyrki enjoys fitness sports such as cycling, gym and kayaking, mushroom and berry picking, cooking, reading, classical music, architecture, design, and above all, gardening.

Jani Peurakoski

Jani’s background is in financial IT: he started out as a database administrator at Startel Oy in 1997, and later became a product manager for online services. After the spinoff of the online services to the Swedish Ecovision AB, Jani continued as product manager while also being a major account manager. After a year at Nordea Life Insurance, Jani moved into banking and began working at Nordea Bank Finland in 2007. His first position was as a country and bank risk analyst, covering a large variety of counterparts and getting acquainted with hands-on credit risk work. After three years, Jani moved over to Export and Project Finance department, initially focusing on telecoms transactions with export credit agency cover, but gradually increasing the scope of work to include large variety of transactions and structures. Jani has worked both as a deal team member and a manager. 

Jani knows the lending processes of banks, is well acquainted with loan documentation and is keen to discuss debt structures and business models.    

Jani is a M.Sc. (Econ) from Hanken, and lives in Helsinki with his wife and two children. He enjoys bicycling, chessboxing and military history.

Miguel Lopes

Before joining Spinverse, Miguel has worked for Finnish wave energy developer Wello, led the Monitoring and Technology Department at WavEC Offshore Renewables and was on the board of its spin-off Pro-Drone. He has 13 years in the areas of wave energy, offshore wind, floating solar and underwater technology. Most of his career has been around making the bridge between R&D and the industry, working in R&D projects involving companies and product development.

Miguel has a M.Sc in Civil Engineering (Construction) and a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering (Ocean Wave Energy) at Instituto Superior Técnico (Portugal). In his spare time, he enjoys discovering Finland with his family and reading books on political economy.
