Digital Europe Programme

Robocoast provides Finnish industries with key competencies in cybersecurity, robotics, energy technologies, artificial intelligence, data analytics, 5G and IoT through 15 Finnish universities and two regional development companies.

Key challenges

The European Commission selected Robocoast as a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) among the total of four EDIHs in Finland. The EDIHs will support activities to advance the digitalization of industry across different regions in Finland and Europe. Robocoast provides key competencies in cybersecurity, robotics, energy technologies, artificial intelligence, data analytics, 5G and IoT through 15 Finnish universities and two regional development companies.

The Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) is a new EU funding programme focused on bringing digital technology to businesses, citizens, and public administrations. It will provide strategic funding to answer these challenges, supporting projects in five key capacity areas: supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced digital skills, and ensuring a wide use of digital technologies across the economy and society, including through Digital Innovation Hubs. 

Impact of the project via Digital Europe programme

With a planned overall budget of 7.5 B€ (in current prices), the Digital Europe Programme aims to accelerate the economic recovery and shape the digital transformation of Europe’s society and economy, bringing benefits to everyone, but in particular to small and medium-sized enterprises.
