We are currently looking for a Business Controller to join us in in Finland (Espoo). As a Business Controller, you will be an essential member of the finance team, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders, including business units, the board of directors, and leadership, receive the financial reports necessary for informed decision-making. You will work closely with the CFO and the leadership team, using data to promote effective leadership.
Your responsibilities will include analysing financial data, creating reports and presentations, participating in financial closings, and preparing materials for board and leadership meetings. Additionally, you will generate ad hoc reports and, most importantly, collaborate with business units to provide the support they need. You will actively engage with stakeholders to fully understand their needs, leveraging data and financial information to drive growth and achieve our strategic goals. You will translate goals into measurable KPIs and evaluate the company’s financial results together with the CFO and Business Unit leaders. You will also control and monitor forecast and the budgeting process.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in business controlling and a strong skill set in Excel, PowerPoint and BI tools. A solid understanding of accounting is essential, and familiarity with the professional services business model is an advantage.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of experience in business controlling, preferably within a privately equity-owned company. Additional experience in business analysis, management consulting, or auditing is highly valued.
We are looking for someone with the right mindset: a problem solver with a positive attitude and an analytical approach. You excel in collaboration, thrive in teamwork, and bring innovative thinking to your work. A passion for developing creative solutions and exploring new approaches is highly desirable.

In this role, you will bring your expertise in project management, financial analysis and consulting to manage cutting-edge projects that drive innovation for our clients in Europe. You will play a key role in supporting customers to deliver groundbreaking solutions, working in fast-paced environments and applying your project management skills.

Relevant Competencies:
- M.Sc. or D.Sc., for example in engineering, industrial management, economics or natural sciences

- Business and / or industrial experience especially within bio-refining, ICT (e.g. 5G, cyber security, FinTech, AI/ML, BigData) or Industry 4.0 (e.g. digital twins, sensors, data analytics) sectors as well as private fundraising and public funding applications (National/EU instruments)
- Understanding of business cultures of entrepreneurs, corporate executives, scientists etc.
