Insplorion has taken the general concept of LSPR-based sensing and made it applicable to a wide range of research areas through its novel technology Nanoplasmonic Sensing (NPS).

Currently battery status is measured by the voltage and current measured from outside the battery. This measuring is uncertain and causes manufacturers to use oversized batteries and perform service earlier than needed.

Insplorion’s proprietary technology NanoPlasmonic Sensing (NPS) enables highly sensitive in-situ monitoring of structural and chemical changes and temperature shifts directly inside each battery cell. Consequently, it has the potential to significantly reduce several inherent problems related to current battery monitoring.

How we reached the goals

The goal is to focus on transportation sector as a market. The main objective is conceiving a comprehensive business plan with a strong go-to market strategy to facilitate market expansion to high-volume markets.

We supported Insplorion in the project planning phase, proposal writing and evaluation of the proposal quality before submission. After a positive decision from EU Commission, Spinverse supported Insplorion in the project negotiation and reporting phases.

Key takeaways

Insplorion was able to secure 50 k€ Horizon 2020 Phase 1 funding with the help of Spinverse, allowing them to set up for a path to international markets in electric transportation.
