Timo is working as a Senior Project Manager at Spinverse and focuses on ICT and security related technologies, solutions and strategies. His specialties lie in ICT Innovation Ecosystems and International Project Management with special interest in cyber and physical security, open source solutions as well as specific challenges to SMEs and public administrations.
Timo’s experience comes from managing several EU projects on ICT innovation development and public policy ICT research through Horizon 2020, Interreg and FP7 funding schemes. He has authored state-of-the-art reports on ICT and Cloud Computing, and he has been immersed in internationalization for the past decade. Prior to working in the technology sector he has accumulated a wide range of expertise in the fields of public policy, international policy analysis and governmental relations.
Some of Timo’s successes while working at Spinverse include the SME projects EPICA, kicking off the new generation of Privileged Access Management, Defera, a mobile interpreting platform for sign language with Signmark Productions and OpSec, a revolutionary multi-channel router for public safety and security professionals. His work with large consortiums has secured funding for autonomous public transport in Sohjoa Baltic, and got one of the most competitive supercomputers in the world to be placed in Kajaani, Finland.
Timo holds an M.Sc. Economics degree in International Politics and Strategy Studies, and a BSc. Economics with Honours in International Politics, both from Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK. He has also university diplomas in both Computer Science and Economics from University of Kuopio, Finland.
He spends his spare time in writing speculative fiction, reading, and dreaming of new travel destinations. He also blogs about current global ICT and traditional security policy developments.
