Saija joined Spinverse in 2021 and works as a Consultant focusing on R&D&I projects in the Defence and Security Team.

Saija holds a M.Soc.Sc. degree in Political Science (World Politics) from University of Helsinki, and she has also completed exchange studies at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in the United States as well as internships in Malaysia and China. She is currently completing her MA studies in Security Governance (M.Adm.Sc.) in Tampere University.

Prior to joining Spinverse, Saija has gained strong working experience from research and analysis duties, communications, international organisations as well as the public policy sector. Moreover, she has worked in the defence sector focusing on Nordic defence cooperation matters and as a Liaison and Staff Officer in international crisis management operation in Kosovo. She has also worked as Project Coordinator in the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) where her work centred on various publicly funded research projects and their day-to-day management.

In her spare time, Saija spends most of her time outdoors and enjoys sports such as trail running, cycling, skiing, and hiking.
