Michael joined Spinverse’s Manufacturing and Energy team as a Project Manager in January 2022. Michael has more than 8 years of working experience in technical industrial companies, and he has gained expertise in lithium battery value chain, circular economy, recycling of metals and e-waste as well as in semiconductor processing.
Before joining Spinverse, Michael worked in Fortum Recycling and Waste as an R&D Project Manager. Michael successfully led numerous process development projects, and most notably he was involved in creating and ramping-up novel lithium-ion battery and e-waste recycling operations. Formerly Michael worked as a process engineer in silicon wafer business in Okmetic where he was responsible for solving immediate process problems and improving the process yield.
Michael is an experienced project manager who is used to working in the industrial R&D&I field that is closely linked with business strategy, partner co-operation and operational excellence. Working in high-tech and circular economy companies has provided him with a broader understanding and practical know-how of value-added process systems, piloting new operations and customer-oriented service.
Michael has graduated from Aalto University’s School of Chemical Technology with a M.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Materials Science. He majored in Materials Processing that deals with the extraction of metals and mineral products from primary and secondary resources. Michael completed a part of his studies at KU Leuven, the department of Materials Engineering (MTM) in Belgium. Michael has also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Michael has volunteered in Slush and in various university student unions and organisations.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, jogging, hiking and cruising with his longboard. Michael likes to read books and graphic novels, play video and board games. He is also enthusiastic about travelling, food and wines.
