+358 50 431 7360Giancarlo Pastor Figureroa is a Senior Project Manager with Spinverse, where he is responsible for proposal preparation and project coordination. He has more than ten years of experience in research, development and innovation. His technical expertise lies between signal and image processing, robotics, scalable sensing systems, vehicular communications, and data science. His research work has been published in the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, and the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, among other periodicals.
He is also an Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship with IE Business School and serves as Mentor to startups in matters of business modelling, new business evaluation, and product development. In addition, he regularly acts as Expert Evaluator (in various technology topics) for six European funding agencies, Austria, Spain, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and other European programmes and projects.
Previously, Giancarlo was with the Aalto University, the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and the University of Texas at Austin, among other RTOs. He was also part of the H2020-funded 5G-MOBIX project (60 partners, more than 25 M€), which aims at qualifying 5G technologies for automated mobility in two European cross-border corridors, and six trial sites along Europe and Asia. In the project, he was Co-leader of the WP2 on Technical Specifications, Co-manager of the Finland Trial site, among other responsibilities.
He received the Engineer degree in electronics engineering from the Pontifical University Catholic of Peru, the Licentiate degree in mathematics from the Autonomous University of Madrid, the Master and Doctor degrees in multimedia and communications from the Carlos III University of Madrid, and King Juan Carlos University, the Doctor of Science (Technology) degree in electrical engineering from the Aalto University, and the MBA degree in innovation and entrepreneurship from the Aalto University Executive Education. His studies and research works have been kindly and continuously awarded by the Saastamoinen Foundation, the Finnish Cultural Foundation, the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, among other organizations.
